Terms and conditions
Party Booking – Terms and Conditions. In booking a party you are confirming you have read and accepted these conditions.
These Terms and Conditions, together with the completed booking form, constitute the contract between the party hirer (‘the Client’) and Broxbourne Borough Council (‘the Council’). The contract shall take effect upon signature by both parties. The Council reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions, including pricing, where reasonably required. Any such amendments will be confirmed in writing and the Client shall have the right to cancel within seven days of notification.
Payment
A non-refundable minimum payment is required to secure a booking. The final balance, including any additional attendees, facilities or activities, must be paid no later than 14 days prior to the event, together with confirmation of final numbers. No refunds shall be issued within eight weeks of the booking date. The Council reserves the right to cancel the booking in the event of non-payment.
Numbers and Arrangements
The Client must provide all relevant details, including anticipated attendance numbers and any specific requirements, no later than 14 working days prior to the event (or at the point of booking if within this period). Final confirmed numbers must be provided no later than five days before the event. Charges will be based on the greater of the confirmed number or the number attending. The Council reserves the right to amend arrangements where necessary.
Conduct and Safety
The Council reserves the right to refuse, cancel or terminate any booking deemed unsuitable, disruptive or misrepresented. All guests must comply with centre rules and pool rules at all times. Any behaviour deemed abusive or unsafe may result in immediate termination without refund. Suitable clothing must be worn at all times; jewellery is not permitted during activities and socks must be worn in soft play areas.
Supervision and Liability
The Client shall be responsible for the supervision and conduct of all attendees and shall indemnify the Council against any loss, damage or expense arising from the actions of any member of the party. The Council accepts no liability for loss or damage to personal property; all vehicles and belongings are left at the owner’s risk.
Pool Party Conditions
Where applicable, a responsible adult must notify lifeguards of any medical conditions prior to participation. All pool safety rules, admission policies and supervision ratios must be adhered to at all times. Only competent swimmers between the ages of 8 and 12 years are allowed on the pool inflatable (No adults). Competent means the child is able to swim at least one width of the deep end unaided, and can jump into deep water unaided.
Abusive or offensive behaviour towards anyone using or working within the centre will not be tolerated and could result in the party being terminated early without compensation.
General
The Client shall not bring hazardous or inflammable materials into the premises. All events must conclude at the agreed time; failure to do so may result in additional charges. All prices include VAT unless otherwise stated. The Council shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
