Steam and Sauna – for your health and safety.

We want you to enjoy our centre safely. Please read through the health and safety requirements before using the steam or sauna facility.

 Do not use if

You have a medical condition such as a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, a respiratory condition or any condition which may be affected by heat.

You are taking medication for any of the above conditions.

Are susceptible to migraines.

Experience reduced sensation in feet or hands.

Have a contagious disease, infectious skin condition or open sores or wound.

Have an illness causing an inability to perspire.

Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Taking any medication whatsoever that may make using a sauna or steam room inadvisable.

Have recently performed rigorous exercise.

Are pregnant and have not sought advice from your medical professional.

Suffer from any condition which may make it inadvisable to use a sauna or steam room.

For your own comfort and in consideration of other users

 

Shower before and after using the health suite to remove any perspiration, creams, oils and deodorants.

Remove any metal items such as watches, jewellery or glasses as they can become very hot.

Remove contact lenses as these can dry out.

Wear appropriate swimwear and sit on a towel.

Always drink plenty of water to replace fluids lost through perspiration, but do not bring breakable containers.

When the heat becomes too uncomfortable leave the sauna/steam room and cool down gradually or take a cool shower.

Be aware of the time as using the sauna for too long may result in nausea, dizziness or fainting.
