Become a lifeguard with a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course (NPLQ)
The next National Pool Lifeguard qualification course is likely to be early 2025. Please keep an eye on this page for details.
Lifeguards can enjoy a number of benefits: varied working hours, the experience of working within a team and the opportunity to progress within the leisure industry (most leisure managers start as pool lifeguards!).
Every candidate attending an NPLQ course must be aged 16 or more at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:
- jump or dive into deep water
- swim 50-metres in less than 60 seconds
- swim 100-metres continuously on their front and back in deep water
- tread water for 30-seconds
- surface dive to the floor of the pool
- climb out of the pool unaided without ladder or steps and where the pool design permits
The course includes the AED (Automated External Defibrillation) qualification.
For further information email hello@bebroxbourne.co.uk or use the contact button at the top of this page.
PLEASE NOTE
The theory element of each course must be successfully completed before you can undertake the practical assessment. The theory section of the course is undertaken and assessed online using Microsoft Teams, led by a Swim England approved licensed tutor. Laptops/Macs/PCs should be used for the training – smart phones or tablets will not provide the functionality required.
