For Beginners an introduction to the fundamentals of Pilates. For Improvers – building on the foundation already established with regular practice, you will challenge muscle groups with exercises which strengthen and tone. Tuesday evenings 7pm. Hatha Yoga with your instructor Vicky. This course is suitable for all. 60 minutes. Next course starts 17 September.
Hatha yoga is practiced at a slow pace, with focus on breathing, controlled movements and stretching.
This course is suitable for all abilities, beginners are welcome. It is also recommended for those who may have any injuries/mobility restrictions as you work at a slow place with plenty of options for modifications.
You will learn various limbering movements to warm up the body, traditional poses to stretch and strengthen the body, develop body awareness and learn basic breathing practices and meditation/relaxation techniques that will benefit your body and mind to help to reduce feelings of stress in daily life.
Each week will be based on a different theme as you explore the various ways in which the body moves.

This class includes many of the mat work exercises incorporated in traditional Pilates, but offers modifications and updates to include strengthening, stretching and mobility movements to encourage a stronger back, core and improve balance; all without going to the floor. Great for people who have difficulty getting up or down from the floor, or those who cannot support their weight on their knees. Equipment is supplied. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Filtered water is supplied but please bring your own water bottle.
